Role Description

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Customer Relations & Sales professional to join our team in a part-time, remote capacity. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for many of our potential customers, building relationships, answering inquiries, and driving sales. You will play a crucial part in ensuring our customers have a seamless and positive experience from their initial contact with us, to the tour guide introduction as their tour approaches, through to the tour itself and after! You will also perform occasional (every few weeks) in-person tasks to help our tour guide team give the best possible experience to our guests.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries via email, phone, and online platforms.

  • Proactively pursue inbound sales opportunities, converting inquiries into bookings.

  • Provide detailed information about our tours and services, tailoring recommendations to customer needs.

  • Manage and update customer databases and sales records.

  • Collaborate with the tour guide team to ensure smooth tour operations and customer experiences.

  • Assist in developing and implementing sales strategies and promotions.

  • Provide feedback to improve internal sales and customer relation processes.

Location

  • This is a mostly remote position; the bulk of your duties will involve emails and calls that can be handled from home

  • There may be ad-hoc tasks once or twice a month that require in-person attendance

Interview Process

This will be a two-round interview process.

  • The first round will be a video call to discuss your experience and fit for the role. This round will begin the week of April 13

  • The second round will be a video call, where you will demonstrate your customer relations and sales skills by working through a provided scenario.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

  • Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service.

  • Sales-oriented mindset with a passion for achieving targets.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.

  • Proficiency in using online communication and CRM tools.

  • Passion for Boston and the tourism industry.

  • Boston-area resident

Bonus Points

  • Previous experience in customer relations or sales, particularly in the tourism or hospitality industry.

  • Familiarity with Boston and its attractions.

  • Experience with CRM software.

  • Knowledge of additional languages.

Compensation

  • Training at $17/hr

  • Fully trained at $22/hr. CoL and merit-based raises available.
